Breeds
Most horses are breed so they are able to acomplish certain tasks. The more stocky built breeds like the Clydesdale are breed to carry goods, pull wagons and do hard jobs on farms as they would be very strong and could cope with the hard work, when the slim agile horses like the Thoroughbred are breed to be able to run very quickly during races whilst keeping good balance. The name for these groups of horses are: hot blood, warm blood and cold blood.
Hot Blood
Hotblooded horses are very slim and agile so that they can run very quickly. They are used for:

*Showjumping
*Dressage
*Eventing

Warm Blood
Warm Blooded horses are inbetween hot blooded and cold blooded horses so they arn't to stocky or slim. They are used for:
*General riding
*Hunting

Cold Blood
Cold Blooded horses are the very heavy and stocky built horses that are made to be very strong. They are usesd for:
*Farm work
*Draught
*Farm work
*Draught
Colourings
Black
Pure black horses are very rare. They must have a black coat aswell as a pure black tail and mane.
Dark grey
Dark grey horses will have a light black coat, mane and tail.
Brown
Brown is a very common horse colour and sometimes it can be hard to tell if horses are brown or black. There coat, mane and tail will all be brown from a light tan colour to a dark chocolate colour.
Bay
A bay horses coat colour will be brown whilst their mane and tail colour will be black. Their lower legs will also be black. Bays are like buckskins eccept they have a dorsal stripe running from the poll to the dock in the tail.
Chestnut
The chestnut colour is when the coat, mane and tail are all the same brown colour, however the coat colour can be lighter of darker than the mane and tail.
Buckskin
A buckskin horse has a sort of tanned coloured coat and is like the dun however doesn't have the dorsal stripe. The buckskin colour occurs when a bay horse has the cream dilution gene.
Blue roan
Blue roans have a black mane and tail, but their coat is white and black.
Red Roan
Red roans coat hairs are a mixture of bay hair and white hair.
Strawberry Roan
Strawberry roans have a mixture of chestnut and white hair and they usually have a chestnut coloured face, lower legs, mane and tail.
Dun
The dun colouring has a body with a pale cream to dark bronze colour whilst the mane, tail and lower legs (sometimes the face) are a darker brown or black colour.
Palomino
Palomino horses have a creamy or bronze coloured body and a silvery coloured mane and tail. There is also an actual breed of horse called the palomino.
Light Grey
Light grey horses may look white but they can't be unless their skin is pink. Some horses are grey because they have lost pigmentation in their hair, so light grey horses are always born a different colour.
Cremello
Cremello horses (or albino) are exteamly rare. To be a cremello horse, they have to of been born with white hair and pink skin.
Piebald
These horses have white fur with black patches on their coat.
Skewbald
Skewbalds are white horses with any other colour than black as their pach colour.
Ovaro
Ovaros are the oppisite of piebald horses as they are black with white patches.
Spotted
These horses either have spots all over their body or in just some parts of their body,
